World itself a prison for the women: Abbas Rafei

“World itself is a prison for the women,” said Iranian Director Abbas Rafei. He was speaking at the press conference conducted in connection with IFFK 19th Edition. “I put a mirror before the Iranian people and portrayed Iran through my movies. The state of Iranian women is pathetic. They are forced to do prostitution in order to make a living. I am screening their melancholic life. The worst thing is that the Iranian government is not at all bothered about the situation,” added Abbas Rafei.
Renjith, Director of the film Njan (Self Portrait), said that he felt much happier by seeing the crowd for watching his movie than getting an award.  ‘My movie talks for me. The movie Njan is all about the bygone patriot K T Narayanan. It is not a political movie. Art can’t be real all the time so we should put some innovative and creative thoughts to bring up a good script. It is a tantamount to painting, he concluded.
Unto the dusk (Asthamayam vare) is the result of three years of hard work of me, my friends and colleagues, said Sajin Baabu, its director. Indu Shrikent, the festival director, Imad Fijjaj, lead actor in the French movie They are the dogs, Geethanjali the heroin of the movie Court were also present .
