'Festivals Consider Comedy Films Second Class’: Jack Zagha Kababie

‘Festivals consider comedy films as second class ones. But I consider them stronger than violent ones’, said Mexican Director Jack Zagha Kababie. He was speaking at the Meet the Director Programme conducted in connection with IFFK 19th edition. To a question why Mexicans always produce violent films, he replied, ‘Festivals always screens violent movies from Mexico and it’s not that we produce only violent films’.
Sudhish Kamath, one of the directors of “X’ who was present at the session opined I genuinely believe that women are not given much importance in movies.’ When asked about his opinion on working with a group of directors for a single film, he replied that it was a great experience. Abhinav Shiv Tiwari, co-director of X , Abbas Rafei, Director of Oblivion Season,  Hicham Lasri, director of They are the Dogs, Geetanjali Kulkarni, the main actress in the film Court also attended the session. Noted Film Critic Saibal Chatterjee was the moderator of the session.
